Core theory is both a theory and a discipline focusing on how core muscles--muscles of the torso, neck, and head--contribute to shaping emotions, mind, consciousness and the spiritual experience.
The methodology is interdisciplinary. My training as a singer and giving massage have significantly influenced this work. Voice training cultivates a detailed awareness of core movement and sensation. Massage work trains knowledge of anatomy, physiology as well as an understanding of how muscles are a dynamic sensory system. Studies in embodied cognition and meditation have also contributed. The resources on this page are introductory guides for exploring the nuts and bolts of the theory in writing, video and audio meditations.
